About Me

My Way

Born in Busan, South Korea, I graduated from the CSU Sacramento with summa cum laude and completed Master's coursework in International Affairs there. I have completed the requirements of a PhD candidate in political science at UC Davis.

Prior to becoming a certified Life Coach, I taught at the university level and worked for the state government, and I am grateful for the journey. The transformations I have undergone through the many stages of my life have made me strong yet tender in heart. I feel a deep connection with our organic world and the people within it. I feel blessed that I have this wonderful opportunity to serve you in realizing your dreams, find joy and purpose in life. It is my desire to introduce you to the vibrancy of your life, guide you to the path of joy, unleash the love inside you, and to grab hold of your passion and live it.

Struggles

I entered my PhD program in the middle of a very difficult divorce and with two preteens, with neither a job nor money. As a new divorcee, I was all fired up to "do it all" but raising two teenagers alone, working at a doctorate, and making a living took a heavy toll on my emotional and physical health. Struggle, fear, and suffering describe my mental state during this time and naturally, I was literally sick and tired all the time.

My experience with coaching: Transformation

What saved me from succumbing to a total breakdown was a chance meeting with a life coach, David Ford. In the ensuing coaching process I began to see how I was virtually killing myself in trying to be and do everything at the expense of my own health and happiness. David has now gone home among the stars and I consider this site a loving tribute to this special friend and mentor.

After six months of coaching, I found a measure of peace and serenity in myself and started to live intuitively, rather than by sheer logic I invested so much time and energy in. I also let go of the heavy bags of judgment, starting with myself, and learned to surrender. I made decisions based on what I truly wanted, not based on what I didn't want. As I started to release struggles, I began to laugh more and my health came back. For the first time in many years, life seemed to flow.

Making empowered decisions and embracing passion and joy

After advancing to PhD candidacy, I took a leave from school to work full time for financial and family reasons. Ironically, when I was ready to go back to school two years later I found that the door was closed. At this juncture I let go of the struggles for good, and opened a new door. I searched deep in my heart for my life purpose - service, whether it be in teaching or in something else - and decided to become a Life Coach because of the transformational effect coaching had on me. I wanted to assist in the magic of reclaiming the Braveheart of my clients so they too can embrace their freedom of choice, live their passions, and find joy from their serene center. Thus we meet here today. As the saying goes, the rest is history....: )

May you begin the journey to your self in the most joyous way.
